Ahh I Just Loved the Wedding of Ruth and Robert!

Ruth and Robert got married on Saturday 27 May 2017 at Newry Metropolitan Tabernacle Church before hosting their wedding reception at Canal Court Hotel, Newry, Co. Down.

Ever since I first met them in the Killyhevlin Hotel Wedding Show back in February 2016, it was clear that Ruth and Robert were very much in love! They are both really down to earth and relaxed. Their wedding date didn’t take long to come around at all and we got to celebrate Robert and Ruth’s gorgeous Canal Court Hotel wedding.

There was a few firsts in this wedding for me: Newry is a new area for me which I’m delighted to say. Another first was when I arrived to photograph the brides preparation and I get there before the makeup artist has even arrived! They are normally at the finishing touches stage with just an hour to go when I arrive. But an incident at the petrol station somewhat delayed her arrival…eek! But nevertheless, we all managed to keep calm with a chat and a cuppa, and I’m glad to say that Ruth was still looking as beautiful as ever and made her service on time! She was definitely a lot more chilled than Robert that’s for sure, as he looked rather anxious when I got to the ceremony, but he soon relaxed when he first caught sight of his stunning bride to be!

Driving Rain Couldn’t Dampen the Love!

Following the lovely service in the Newry Metropolitan Tabernacle we headed off, in the driving and pouring rain lol, for photos at Carlingford, County Louth. The rain didn’t ease off one single moment, but we found a semi dry spot for Ruth and Robert underneath a cute little archway. The view that leads onto one of the cobbled shopping streets was lovely, but we were anchored for sure. We got a selection of lovely photos though!

The driving wind funnelling up through the street almost blew us back into the wedding cars. Once we had bagged our photos, we headed back to Newry to their reception venue, the Canal Court Hotel. Ruth was actually granted a few days off from her usual chef’s role in the kitchen! Happy days!

After getting the family rounded up for a few quick photos we headed into the lovely function room. Their speeches were brilliant! Filled with love, laughter and also a few touching moments which required the inevitable tissues to come out for a few. With a meal fit for a king following speeches it was then time to party to the night away!

A fabulous day, with an amazing couple that look perfect together and the gorgeous styling details to match (just check out those Jimmy Choo’s for example!!).
